Who I Am

A Little About Me

Outside of academia, I mentored a group of young Muslim women from diverse backgrounds to open up and work together in creating their first ever publication, a zine entitled: She Rose Above. After my mentees presented their work, they sold their zines and donated the proceeds to a women’s shelter. Whether I am mentoring young women, empowering under-resourced students to express themselves through art, or updating a non-profit’s website, my work carries meaning behind it. I love building and maintaining connections with people, being an active community maker, listening to peoples stories, and learning new coffee brewing techniques.

Interesting Factoid

I planned a zero dollar wedding for one of my close friends.
