Bucket List

Hike Andes, Appalachian Trail + more Dolomites

I've hiked many/most national parks in North America but so many peaks await . . .

Visit Bahia + Amazon

I'm in love with the music of NE Brazil and love Rio. A few decades back, I was driving up the Transamazonica Highway and about 100 miles north of Rio a trucker followed me out to the outhouse of a bar where I had stopped to pee. He cornered me on a wall, yanked off my tiny gold necklace, gave it back to me and warned me that people on this road would kill for much less than this. He told me to turn back around and told me I wouldn't get through to Bahia even if I wasn't stopped along the way because a good chunk of the highway is overgrown with foliage and detours are stretches of paved or gravel roads through the jungle. I don't know how much of this is true, but, I left Brazil to go home, have a couple of kids, raise them and put this on hold for a few years. I'm ready now.
