“Why do I never end up winning?” questioned my 8-year-old self after repetitively losing rounds of Monopoly. My interest in business initiated from my curiosity as a child in the mechanisms and strategies in playing a classic board game. Many concepts stood out to me and motivated me to finally take business and economics classes in high school and pursue a uniformed path in university. My final goal is pursue a career in entrepreneurship where I can use my passion and interests in narrowing developmental gaps in Indonesia.
I am an Indonesian undergraduate student at the University of California, Los Angeles, majoring in Economics. Through this major, I aim to gradually apply concepts from classes in real life. This dynamic interaction drives a balance between obtaining knowledge and practical applications which ensures growth and well-rounded understanding about the concepts. Asides from the business and economics, I am passionate in philanthropy, arts and crafts, fashion, video-editing, social media and technology.
I enjoy combining my different areas of interests as they offer possibilities to enhance the ‘best of many worlds’. This became apparent under my experiences such as creating an art therapy program to serve disabled children in a local orphanage and starting an online clothing store to raise awareness about mangroves.
Within the past few years, I have specifically catered my involvements in clubs and internships within distinct business departments. This serves to develop well-rounded knowledge and understanding about businesses to eventually have a strong foundation prior to building my own.
