I was born in Lansing, Michigan and then continued to move to the surrounding areas throughout my life. I currently go to Holt High School, and am very excited to go to college and continue my education. I am hoping to go to the University of Michigan and get my bachelors in either sociology or psychology, and then my masters in criminal justice. I have high hopes of working for the U.S. Department of Justice in the Federal Bureau of Investigation or the Drug Enforcement Agency. I am completely aware of the sexism in the FBI and DEA, but I am hoping to work past that and do what I want in life. I also hope to inspire other women, like my younger sister, by showing her that women can do whatever they want in life.
I also come from a low-income family, and I wish to pay for a portion of my education with scholarships. I've always known that I wanted to go to college, I just never realized the high costs that come with it. Both my parents are unemployed due to health reasons, so I want to do everything I can to make them proud despite our conditions.
