I grew up in St. Louis, Missouri with my older brother, Kennedy, and my parents, Tom and Judy. My dad grew up in Kansas, so it has always been my second home, we always try to visit their twice a year to see family and of course visit the University of Kansas. KU has been my dream school since I can remember and with all honesty, when it came to applying for colleges it is the only one I applied to. Now being a sophomore at the university I can say my life has been changed for the better. I have learned so much about myself and what I want to do to help those in need. I decided to become a psychology major with a minor in social justice, so I have a few options for what I want to do with these degrees. My main emphasis in social justice is women's rights, so I focus mainly on sexual violence and/or domestic violence. I am currently in KU's pre-law program, called LEAD, so becoming a lawyer for women involved in sexual/domestic violence is a path I would love to take, but I have also thought about working in non-profits, being a paralegal, or a court advocate. I have so many paths open to me thanks to my professors and clubs I am a part of that have helped me reach out and find my place. As long as I can make a difference in someone's life I know I will be ok, money and salary don't mean much to me if I am not helping those who need it the most.
