David Weekly is an engineer, product manager, and serial founder. After graduating with a CS degree from Stanford and several years working as an engineer, he founded PBwiki (the world's first private wiki host) and grew to ~4m users/mo and a team of 30. PBwiki (now PBworks) is still running today. He then was an Entrepreneur In Residence at Trinity Ventures and founded Oha.na (a family sharing platform) which sold to Facebook, where he helped launch internet.org and made the world's first detailed map of the disconnected and launched the Facebook Connectivity Lab to investigate using drones, lasers, and satellites to get people online. He then created a new connectivity research lab at Google, built a product roadmap for cardiology & medication adherence for Verily, and built a new product management org for the Datacenter Software Team of >130 engineers, responsible for managing Google's entire fleet of servers, networking gear, and facilities. He has invested in 60+ startups and founded neuron.vc, drone.vc, and mexican.vc, the latter of which returned >11x cash-on-cash to LPs as the first seed fund for Mexican tech companies.
David also founded SuperHappyDevHouse (a nerd party hackathon) and Hacker Dojo (the birthplace of Pinterest), where he currently continues to serve as chairman. He lives in Redwood City, CA with his wife Rebecca and two sons Max & Cyrus. He is a private helicopter and fixed-wing pilot as well as commercial drone pilot. He is looking forward to exercising his rescue scuba diver privileges as soon as it is safe to do so again.
